Gambling Responsibly in Uganda

Online betting and casino gaming can be a fun form of entertainment when approached responsibly. However, for some people, gambling can become a problem. TopCasinoUganda encourages all players to gamble within their means and to recognise the signs of problem gambling.

Signs of Problem Gambling

You may have a gambling problem if you:

  • Spend more money on gambling than you can afford to lose
  • Borrow money or sell possessions to fund gambling
  • Feel anxious, irritable, or depressed when not gambling
  • Chase losses by placing larger bets
  • Neglect work, family, or social responsibilities due to gambling
  • Lie to family or friends about how much you gamble
  • Use gambling to escape problems or negative emotions

Tips for Responsible Gambling

💰 Set a Budget

Only gamble with money you can afford to lose. Set a strict budget before you start and stick to it. Never use money needed for rent, food, or bills.

⏰ Set Time Limits

Decide in advance how long you will play. Take regular breaks and avoid gambling for extended periods. Use platform tools to set session time limits.

🚫 Don't Chase Losses

Accepting losses is part of gambling. Never try to win back lost money by placing bigger bets. This leads to greater losses and potential addiction.

🔒 Use Platform Tools

All NLGRB-licensed platforms offer deposit limits, loss limits, session limits, and self-exclusion options. Use these tools to stay in control.

Self-Exclusion

If you feel you need a break from gambling, you can request self-exclusion from any NLGRB-licensed platform. This prevents you from accessing your account for a set period (from 6 months to permanent). Contact the platform's customer support to activate self-exclusion.

Protecting Minors

Gambling is strictly prohibited for anyone under 18 years of age. If you are a parent or guardian, we recommend using parental control software to prevent minors from accessing gambling websites. All platforms in our ranking are required to verify the age of their users.

Remember: Gambling is entertainment, not income. Play for fun, set limits, and know when to stop. If gambling stops being fun, stop gambling.
